Making more money in drive thru only and lower labor costs from not having to clean and staff a lobby.

My guess is they can't hire anyone to work the lobby since they're competing with the government paying people to sit on their asses.

at this point i don't see why chick fil a or canes would ever open their lobbies again.

Their drive-ups are always packed.

They probably realized that having a sit down area is just a waste of labor and resources

B/c fast food is the one type of restaurant that can survive easily on drive-thru only.

And they don't have to clean the insides.

Because they’re still doing the same volume of sales as pre-covid shutdowns but now without the expense of having to staff and clean a dining area inside

As others pointed out, they can save on having to constantly clean, less staff to work the front counter, save on refills, save on people hoarding extra napkins, sauce..., can now get away with cleaning the bathrooms occasionally instead of every few hours.

Don't worry. We will be like rowanda one day and the food will come to your car while you wait in traffic.

According to a Chick Fil A manager the states requirement is it has to be cleaned every time someone uses it & most places don’t have the staff / time to do it
This was in Phase 1 so I don’t know if it’s still the case
