Does it have to do with the size of the plane?

Have you seen the size of the cockpit in a fighter jet?

How did you reach this conclusion? Does your wife have a thing for short pilots?

All that pressure causes your spine to compress so it makes you shorter after years of exposure.

If youre talking about military pilots then its probably because of the cockpit size...and there are certain limitations on the cockpit size to get the performance they want...thus only certain sized individuals can fit into the cockpits given those conditions.

I know someone who was really hell bent on getting into the Air Force but he was too tall to fly anything.

I know a tall guy (prob 6'2 or so) who wanted to pilot military jets. Military told him he would have to sign a waiver stating if he ever had to eject and lost his legs bc of the ejection he couldn't receive disability from the service! Needless to say he chose to pilot choppers instead

There are limitations on some planes, but G force pulls the blood from your torso to your outer extremities. That's why you wear a G-suit, it helps to keep the blood in your torso.

So its also beneficial to be shorter when pulling G's as the blood as a shorter distance to travel.

1. They're not "short" they're "low average"

B. Dudes that are low average in height are Alpha and awesome as frick

III. The cockpit (NTTAWWT) does not accommodate cats that are on the tall side, so that creates downward pressure on the average height, resulting in an impression that pilots are not very tall.

Used to be that you couldnt be taller than 6'4" to fly a plane equipped with ejection seats. Risk was you'd leave your legs below your knees in the cockpit if you ejected.
