n 2095 LSU is going to be listed as a HBCU.
Nope. It's a historical title.
Chicago State is 90% black, but it's not an HBCU.
Bluefield State is an HBCU, but it's 90% white.

Does LSU still do those campus text alerts every time there’s a situation? Back in 2015, they’d always describe what they’re wearing, where they were, what they did but never the skin color of the suspect.

After the university broke its enrollment records for the eighth year straight, Welcome Week offered the class of 2029 its inaugural opportunity to build these connections.
This was what LSU wanted. This is what the LSU Board of Supervisors pushed for. They get to check a few boxes but I have a feeling this is going to prove to be an eventual problem.
I have a degree from LSU. My kids will all be getting one elsewhere. Not that that's anything new but I appreciate them continuing to make it a MUCH easier decision.

for the record overall its ~12% black and ~21% for undergrad
and LSU needs to start requiring the damn standardized test scores
2024 freshman class was 12% black
2023 freshman class was 7.7% black
2022 freshman class was 18.7% black
for grad class
2025-12%
2024-12%
2023-12.7%
so not sure if its certain demographics attending these events or what
because in 2010 it was 9.7% for overall student body, 9.2 in 2005, 9.5% in 2000.

Who gives a shite dumbass? Still a shitty strategy that’s going to effectively destroy public education in Louisiana.

no shite but at least blame the right person. its not that hard to know whats going on with the university if you actually care about it.
you prolly never even attended nor even know what policy is causing the change

I really don’t understand why this board is so up in arms over black kids going to LSU

I would never be caught dead at that crappy university but I have to live amongst its students and alumni

This streak needs to be broken immediately. I truly don't care what color these students are or what they look and act like, but we can't continue this trend of auto accepting everyone with a pulse to drive this stupid fricking number. Campus is over crowded and our academic rankings are at the bottom of the ocean..make it fricking stop

The incoming freshman class of 2024 was 27% black. The numbers on the freshman class of 2025 haven’t been released yet.

its not the skin color per se, its more the demographics changing and what that means.
BUT ITS MAINLY ABOUT WHY THE DEMOGRAPHICS ARE CHANGING!!
if you understand why it is changing, then you would understand why they are up in arms. its changing because these kids are mainly getting in based off GPA from terrible HS and not submitting test scores which are no longer required. they also have been dropping out or transferring at an over 40% clip. so yea they have reasons to be concerned.
it also is somewhat predatory by LSU. they are admitting these kids know damn well that they can not hack it. so they take the money, the kids go into debt and in the long run the citizens of LA, many of whom graduated from LSU, pay for it
and like it or not...the statistics concerning all matters of crime dont lie when it comes break down by race. literally 1 in every 25 black males will murder someone in their lifetime. that isnt an exaggeration either.
