The last time some kid asked me to buy some I told the scout leader I would buy their entire stock whenever their bullshite organization excludes females again.

Actually it was forced down the scouts throat by the far left communist leaning liberal democrats that they had to include GLBTQRSTUV and girls that may think they are boys but want to dress like men, if ANYTHING that should encourage you to support, not discourage them.

Wrong. Never sold a car in my life.

Glad both my boys got their Eagle before this happened, When the organization actually followed what it professed. Our troop never did the popcorn thing.

Are you also tired of travel ball teams fundraising in front of Walmart?
They can’t be the only team at “Nationals” without a 4x8 banner of the whole team posing in front of a lightning storm.

Yeah walked out of Lowe’s yesterday and was going to buy some jalapeño popcorn but they said 20 bucks for one bad. My wife and I both made a face and said sorry not interested.

You need to research that topic a little more. BSA is not so much letting girls into the Boy Scouts as they are setting up their own alternative to Girl Scouts for them, in parallel.
In scouting terms, there are now "boy's troops" and "girl's troops" within BSA. I doubt they'll be that much more involved with each other than the kids involved would have been anyway.
This is not some crackpot leftist social justice thing. It's the opposite. The Girl Scouts *did* become a crackpot leftist thing (I have daughters- I know), and BSA is trying to provide an alternative.
It's not great (BSA has gotten pretty wacky and lukewarm itself), but it's not the end-of-the-world crap people make it out to be.

They really need to start selling thin mints. Inclusivity and all.
There is no need for thin mints anymore. Mint flavor thin Oreos. Cast off the chains of Girl Scout oppression!
Buy them now, thank me later.

Eagle Scout here who never sold popcorn; but I support the scouts when I can and buy when I have cash on me. The leftist view of scouts has been blown out of proportion and I enjoyed my time in scouts. Still talk to some of the guys I finished eagle with today.
Honestly, we’re nerdy as frick but we’ve all done well in life.

I'd much rather be politely asked to donate to scouts than waste my money giving it to some bum on a street corner.
Don't wanna give? Fine. Just politely decline and go to your car. It really isn't so traumatic.
You probably hate on Salvation Army folks at Christmas, too.

When I was in cub/webelo/boy scouts I don't ever recall doing fundraisers or selling shite. Our family paid our dues, participated in volunteer stuff for the organization, but we never were asked to sell anything.
We learned to do sand art, in bottles, in the 70's, and got booths in local art shows and flea markets. We did animal designs in little Welch's Grape Juice bottles, and sold them for $1.00.
We bought tents' and other camping equipment with the money.
After we built up our membership, and reputation in the area, someone donated some land, and International Paper Company donated some saplings, for a Christmas tree farm we started.
Of course that was a long-term situation. We went out and planted the original trees, and the troop benefited from it years later. As far as I know, Troop 44 still sells Christmas trees every year.

It's not about what you get for the money. It's merely about helping out an organization that has been around for generations. A dying breed and what is going on in the world today, I say hats off to these young men.
