Just had some dude in skinny jeans and a pony tail try to sell me popcorn. It's a commie organization now anyway.

Well, did you let him put his hands down your pants or not, Canteen Boy?

Offered to buy some white cheddar popcorn yesterday. $20 for one bag. One. Bag.

Had to pass on that, but I bought a cheaper bag of caramel corn.

Sometimes it pisses me off with the begging tactics but in the current climate we live in they can't really go door to door like we did 25-30 years ago.

The Cub Scouts has been a wonderful organisation for my son. Through Scouting he has met many friends, learned skills and lessons that he would not be able to learn in school, has enjoyed serving his community, and also has had a blast doing it.

and yes, I have joined him when it came to selling popcorn fundraisers in front of retail establishments. If you don't feel led to give then don't. It's quite alright.

You would be amazed how many gracious people give large monetary donations while we are trying to sell popcorn because of the positive influence that scouting had either in their life or their kids life.

I'm a cub scout leader. Both of my sons are involved and love the program. We sell outside kroger usually. But our kids only ask and if someone says no we tell them to have a nice day. There is no begging or pressure.

Ditto

It is Cub Scouts 1 and only fundraising activity. Through this fundraising activity there are many kids that can be a part of scouting that probably wouldn't be able to otherwise.

They really need to start selling thin mints. Inclusivity and all.

Just curious- you say that you are tired of being accosted by Scouts fundraising outside of retail establishments..

Are you also tired of travel ball teams fundraising in front of Walmart?

Are you tired of church groups asking for monetary donations at intersections?

Are you tired of nonprofits calling you soliciting money?

Or is it just the Scouting programs that are bothering you?
