I’m definitely not teaching my son how to be a panhandler
Whatever. It's not panhandling. I've been in sales for 20 years and I use it as an opportunity to teach our boys to make good eye contact, to communicate clearly and to be comfortable talking to adults.
But I'm sure that instead of an organization that teaches our children to be respectful of others and learn life skills it would be better to just throw them in front of some garbage on the TV screen.

Who's tired of being accosted by scout leaders at every store.Just had some dude in skinny jeans and a pony tail try to sell me popcorn. It's a commie organization now anyway.
Sounds rapey

I give a few dollars here and there. They've been at our Kroger and even Walmart a few times. Only thing I'll complain about it having your lowest price item at $10 probably misses quite a few opportunities for you. I'll do something for $5 but $10 for a small bag of popcorn is a bit much.

That I understand. The councils decide what we carry and our price points. Some areas actually do have a $5 product. I've noticed that most people that don't want to spend $10 will just make a donation - and that's totally fine.

The lazy dude at the Racetrac asking for money because he has a job interview in Houston is who I’m tired of.

That makes sense. A used car salesmen teaching kids to beg for a living

Is everyone also up in arms because it's FFA fruit sales month?

Are you tired of church groups asking for monetary donations at intersections?
What churches do this?
Are you tired of nonprofits calling you soliciting money?
yes
Or is it just the Scouting programs that are bothering you?
No but I see you when walking up to the grocery store entrance. If I want to contribute I will walk up. Don’t make me feel like an arse for saying no to a kid,.

I see them all the time in BTR, walking around high traffic intersections wearing orange safety vests and holding 5 gallon buckets

That is understandable. I can't speak for other organizations, but with ours when we go to a retail establishment they give us a certain area to set up, which is typically adjacent to the front entrance. We are never block the right way in and out of the store.

Yes. They’ve been at my grocery store every weekend for 5 weeks now. It’s been going on way too long.
And the price for their popcorn is insane.

They were on the side today but I had 5 boys screaming at me to buy their stuff and it was not great experience.

Offer to buy 5 bags if the guy making the pitch can name the Vice President.

When I was in cub/webelo/boy scouts I don't ever recall doing fundraisers or selling shite. Our family paid our dues, participated in volunteer stuff for the organization, but we never were asked to sell anything.
The area is affluent now, but at the time, was quite rural, a huge demographic mix.
Why do scouts need to sell shite now?
And yes, I can barely get in an out of the fricking grocery store because they set up their tables at the pinch point where people are coming and going with carts and whatnot, and it's a nuisance.
Regarding the other poster's question if I'm tire of other types of solicitors at intersections, no, they don't affect me at the intersection. Solicitors absolutely affect me getting in and out of the grocery store.
It used to just be the Salvation Army at Christmas time, now it is a 365 day operation of someone soliciting donations at the door, in addition to every fricking cashier asking if I want to donate a dollar to this and that. fricking wretches.

Here we were given the option of writing a $250 check or selling $750 worth of popcorn. I wrote the check for two years but I’m glad my son realized how lame it was and quit asking to join this year.

I went in Sam's one day and complained because they let a travel ball club that wasn't from the county we were in beg for money. They weren't even selling anything.
That pissed me off.
