The Gen X and Millennial children of other dead Boomers who were left millions of dollars in retirement accounts and cash etc. Look up The Great Wealth Transfer. It’s very real.

All I can say is smart people will always win over dumb people. It’s not a generational thing so labels are dumb. The world has always come down to smart vs. dumb. And it has nothing to do with politics because that is not true power. True power is waking up everyday and enjoying your life. The smart people are nameless people you’ll never hear about because they are simply going about life and winning. But, I understand dumb people live on jealousy and emotion. And the biggest problem is dumb people don’t realize they are dumb so they make wrong assumptions and other dumb people believe them.

The ones who think they are smart and have it all figured out are usually the dumbest people in the room.

Ramble less.

What makes you think these people have no heirs and wills to give those heirs the properties?

Mississippi: if you don’t send your kids to private school, you don’t give a shite about them. (Unless you’re in one of the few decent school districts where your children aren’t outnumbered.)

Boomers were smart with their money, didn't spend $7 on a cup of coffee or $200 eating at fancy restaurants or buy $100k SUVs on a $100k salary or send their kids to private school or buy 2500sf houses as starter homes.

Boomers bought as much coffee as they wanted, it just didn’t cost $7. Same with cars. You’re just pulling up the ladder behind you.

Actually I did that instead of buying a vacation home. Paid their college tuition as well.

THANK YOU! Right! We are entitled as Boomers to be very, very, very extremely highly respected. We will acknowledge this by patting you on the head if you are not a boomer.

Thanks again.

I’m sitting up here in a 1000 sq foot Airbnb condo in Breckenridge, Colorado that goes for 1.2 million, we are surrounded by mansions that are 5 million plus and I’m hit with the question….

Who is gonna fill these when the boomers die that bought them for 600k? fricking boomers got the sweetest deal of any generation in the history of the world.

Lake houses for 100-200k back in the day, mountain mansions for 600k, who’s gonna fulfill these listings when they die and go up for sale and they’re listed for 5 million?

The cheapest thing in this neighborhood is 300 sq feet for 490k.

Their millennial kids will most likely prefer to sell them for the cash instead of inheriting them and paying the taxes and fees that come with maintaining a second home

Inb4 work harder and we walked 6 miles uphill both ways to buy those properties

The market determines the price, not the owner or the realtor.

If no one buys them for the asking prices, the prices will come down.

Often in these threads people post as if the Boomers typically have kids not just under 50 but under 40.

I have multiple houses in Colorado. There’s not an overwhelming number of Boomers in the mountain ski towns. The only person I know with a house in Breck graduated from LSU around 2006.

If I ever have a bad day or just feel down... I then remember there are people that cry about "boooomers!!1!1" at 6PM on a Saturday.

Then I'm ok again.
