I thought My Taco did bad.

But I have a 2x4, maybe the 4x4 is that much worse.

The other guys have the V6, you have the 4 cylinder.

those TDIs rock. Waiting on the 2015 sportwagen.

The initial cost and ridiculously expensive maintenance basically negates any fuel savings you see. We have Jetta TDIs for our junior salesmen and the company has had nothing but trouble from them. I have a 2012 model parked at my office right now that we can't give away. Also, if you are over 5'7", they are really uncomfortable. I know that probably isn't a big deal in S LA, but it is here.

As Skillet says, don't forget to pee before you get on the bus.

Ridgeline gets 18.5 to 20 MPG.
I drive 50 miles a day and can go 7 work days on a tank.
ETA: My '98 Z71 got 14 on a good day.

Wife's SUV is just a shade under 20 mpg for her total driving (according to the onboard computer). She's happy with it and it's a safe car (and does get well into the 20s on the highway).

Yes, F-150, FX4. Horrible gas mileage, but I went in with eyes wide open. My wife's QX 56 is only slightly better. The only surprise was that, given the large gas tank, I have several times had the gas pump stop automatically at $100 before the truck was full. Apparently there is a limit with credit cards! Had no idea.

High gas prices = jobs for us

I feel this way too.

meh, i've heard this sort of account and i've heard the exact opposite. i've driven the 6-speed sportwagen tdi (2013) and it was great. (remember, even the "Jetta" sportwagen isn't a Jetta at all--and the new one drops the Jetta name altogether.) my friend has racked up a shite-ton of miles on it with no issues.

i know a dealer who'll hook me up, and I am going to wait for the tweaked 2015 engine + get 100k warranty. if they don't bring an AWD high-ground clearance version, then i'm not going to bother.

I want a road trip car that i can also do light towing light semi-off road (e.g. over 7 inches of ground clearance) and get good MPG. few cars fit that bill. oh, and the new one is bigger. but even the old one was plenty big at 6 ft and not skinny.

QX56 I wasn't expecting great gas mileage so it doesn't bother me.

The Vette is the most economical car I own. The rest of 'em are high teens on the highway, except for the RV, its mid-singles.

A V8 Grand Cherokee. No.

I've never had a fuel efficient vehicle, so as long as I keep the streak going, I won't know how screwed I am.

Jeep Wranger Unlimited and I get 13-14 MPG in the city. Can creep close to 20 with highway driving. I love everything about my Jeep, so the lack of fuel efficiency doesn't bother me.
