Edit: I am an idiot and didn't realize this was a bumped thread from three years ago.

With that said, I have a cousin who is a Corvette fanatic. Unfortunately he wrecked his last Vette but at least he and his wife weren't hurt. He already has a new C8 on the way. I dunno, the dude leases them. Perhaps he gets a deal because he works at a dealership.

I dont see how anyone would pick a Corvette or any american made car over a mercedes benz or BMW.

Corvette remains a sturdy platform with far more longevity than any post 2005 BMW or Mercedes. In fact the C5 is probably the best "cheap" used car that a novice racer can use for track day.

Who do you think is buying BMW's and Mercedes-Benz products these days?

eta: Who the heck bumped a 3 year old thread?

"Name them"

Anything that doesn't have my arse on the pavement pretending to look like a race car on city streets. Basically anything except a vette.

My father in law gave me his 1976 Corvette and 1982 C3 Corvette before he passed away as he collected corvettes.
The 1976 Corvette ran fine while the 1982 C3 Corvette was known for being unreliable.
1982 C3 was a money Pitt and hard to sell.
1976 I sold that one in an hour of putting a sign on it in my drive way.

As far as fun to drive the 1976 was an extremely fun and nice car to drive.
The 1982 C3 was just an all around disappointment.

I have a friend that gets a new 'vette every year, and has for decades, she uses it as her everyday to the office and back car, I think they look cool and I like riding in it but she is constantly having mechanical issues with them, seems like most of them that she's owned have given her problems

755 hp that’s it? Hell my truck has 702, I figured they would have more ponies than that. It’s still a fine car imo, a lot nicer than my 77 and 95 vette.

If I could afford a Vette, I'd for sure drive it.

For a naturally aspirated engine, that is awesome numbers. Actually I think the LT6 is closer to 675 than 755. One of the key reasons for not going with a supercharger was space limitations for the convertible roof. If you have seen one, you already know that area fills up pretty quick with the top retracted.
Corvette LT6 design and specs.

New C8Z06 that is coming will give supercar performance. Flat-plane crank, 8600 redline.

So you would drive a Toyota or Nissan over BMW or Mercedes?

I'm still wondering who would drive a pickup with a huge Yeti sticker in the back window unless they owned actual shares of Yeti.

I have driven a C8 and it is such a radical departure from everything previous. The new Z06 will be the next step forward.
