It's been a long time since this was true. The Corvette is the damn Bald Eagle of cars. It's arguably the best performance-to-price value on the planet. It shames performance cars costing 2 and 3 times as much.

I'm not even a Chevy person--never had one, but I think I would love a Corvette, if I didn't love the 60-100k more. A Corvette is America, F--- Yeah.

I wouldn't turn down a free one.

But a mode of transportation is at the bottom of my spending priorities.

Are you referring to Randy’s comparison?

I’ll leave the judgement to him. He prefers the Ford. Don’t be jaded. You have a world class car.

agree you with there. I honestly just think spending more than 25-30k on a car is a complete waste of money unless you have so much that you dont know what to do with it. So many people financially frick themselves with car notes and cars they dont need.

Corvettes are great performance for the buck. Also never understood why it's such a big deal that it's usually older men that drive them. Most guys can't afford a Corvette when they're younger. Then in their late 20's and 30's they can afford one it's not realistic with wife/kids. So it's really only after the kids have moved out that a guy can get one.

Not unlike this post. How is Metree’s dangling dingleberry holding up these days?

Those were the test mules for Lingenfelter when the C7, I think, came out. The Vette wasn't available but the motor was in the trucks.

I've driven both a C7 Stingray and C8 Stingray around a track. The C7 was fun, but not fun enough to ever consider buying one. Fast, but kind of clunky. The C8 was awesome around a track. Stuck to the pavement way better than the C7 and was super fun to drive. It wouldn't be my first choice for vehicles if I had that kind of disposable income, but it's hard to beat it at it's price point. All of this is coming from someone who is all about German cars.

If it was free, sure. I would not buy one.
