I guess he would have to be, since they aren't native to Minnesota. Thanks for pointing that out. By the way you spelled grizzly wrong!

I dont think a grizzly would dare to take on a bull moose.

Easily. There's video out there.

They take them from behind, drag them down then kill. They usually opt for the slower moose which is the babies. But a moose is no contest for a bear.

A black bear can take out a moose in one slash, no issue for the brownie either.

Dude some of the bull moose I’ve seen, good fricking luck with the Grizzlies taking them down. I know how big Grizzlies are, but these are are physically like twice the size of these bears. No way in hell could a black bear take one down. Grizzly could if he (female Grizzlies I’m totally ruling out against bull) got some good swipes in, but a bull moose is more than capable of kicking in or stomping a bear’s head in.

I’m going to need a video of this. Not a doe moose or a bull moose not fully grown, but a black bear taking down a fully grown bull moose. I’m very doubtful a black bear can take them down. Seen both multiple times out in the wild. They’re way less than half a bull moose’s weight.

This. You don't realize how massive they are until you are next to one.

It's a similar question to if a male lion can take down a cape buffalo. They can, but it isn't a sure thing and many die trying.

Took long enough for someone to properly pluralize Moose.

The weight difference between a lion and Cape buffalo is significantly more dramatic than a grizzly bear and a bull moose

600-1,000 versus 840-1,500 bear versus moose
420-500 versus 935-1,910 lion versus a Cape buffalo

I think a polar bear could take it on since if they’re hungry enough they’ll attack walruses which are big as frick as well and have a thicker hide. Grizzly though the biggest animal it can possibly take on a bull moose and I think a lot of Grizzlies die when they attempt to do it.

Grizzly. I don’t think there are many land-based animals out there that would defeat a fully-grown grizzly.

The big ones are way more than a thousand. One I’ve seen was at least 1500 pounds and towered over us.

A moose is a pretty fricking large animal and the biggest one in North America.

Saw a wolf in Yellowstone run across the road and trailing it was a bull moose as it crossed the road. I was surprised at how big it was compared to the wolf much less the cars on the road as it passed. They are massive. I mean the females weigh in at around a dainty 900 lbs if not mistaken.

This is a stupid question. I love a good "who would win" discussion, but a grizzly bear has this one locked down.

n some polar areas, black bears feed mostly on larger animals for the increased protein. In these colder areas, such as Northern Labrador, the black bears will take down fully grown caribou, deer, and moose.

Generally all bears go for smaller or wounded animals. However, they have no problem taking down 1500lb creatures. They just prefer to conserve energy.

Our work dumpster is over a thousand pounds and a black bear flips it regularly like its a soda can.

I'm really familiar with all three, and it isn't difficult at all for a bear to toss a moose. Blackies can get over 600 lbs.

Yeah, people have a false sense on how big moose are because they’re largely not in zoos since they’re very picky eaters and picky about their environment. You’ll never see moose in a Southern zoo due to this. People know how big bears are since if you just give them a ice pool and a shite ton of meat, they’re fine. Moose are very, very large animals.

I went on a bachelor party last year for a pledge brother of mine and since everything was still shut down by Covid, we changed plans from a Denver bachelor party to a mountains bachelor party camping. One day as we just get finished shotgunning a beer, we look down the ridge and realize that three bull moose were slowly heading towards us. All of them were massive, but there was one and was clearly the alpha that was unbelievably huge. It was so big that it’s horns would hit an African Elephants eye.

Now half the bachelor party went to college with the bachelor and the other half were Mississippi rednecks who went to high school with the bachelor. Now three of us lived in Colorado and knew what we were up against, while the idiots thought it was like a big deer and started shouting. Needless to say the ones who knew that wasn’t a big goofy deer got pissed risking our lives like that. You’d much rather see a black bear than 3 bull moose heading your way. Sorry a lot of you just don’t know the capability of a full grown bull moose.

And bull moose can be over 1500 pounds. Roger, come on, you should know this.
