Well I was too. My first purchase was when I got my license. 16 yrs old. Fifth of vodka from Nicholson Foodmart across from Northgate liquor.
We used to hit up Rainbow, Jimbos, U&P(on Jefferson by Parkview), The Highland Road mart(between jeff and airline), and this little corner store before the Bengal on Highland we called the Chinese frickshop.
But my first purchase at 18 was paradise daqs. ha

Wasn't that big a deal to me because legal age in LA was 18 at time. Probably just ordered a shot at the one decent bar we had in my small college town. But I think my first legal drink at 18 was at midnight at Nick's in NOLA on Tulane, as we tried to power through their ridiculous mixed drink challenge.

My cousins used to send me to the local liquor store to "purchase" beer when I was 12, they had a tab at this place. I've never drank in my life...
