My sister just brought me a boudin king cake from between the buns in ponchatoula. Not bad. Pepper jelly glaze and crackling bits on top.

It's not the only variety available in the area, obviously the Brioche style can be found as well as the traditional gallette, and Twins and Keller's and some others have unique styles themselves. id bet anything that nobody sells more king cakes in lafayette than kellers.

There is a new one in Hattiesburg. Owner went down, got some Dong Phuong's and reversed engineered them. Now bragging his are as good.

Those are very good. I picked up one last year when passing through to see what the hype was. Unfortunately though don’t think those are king cake. Just deliciousness. I got I bought the chocolate blackout or similar. Would buy again.
