What kind of car/truck?

My first car was a standard
1977 BMW 320i.
It’s a nice skill to have that you’ll never forgot.

I love this car!!

My dad’s mid 80’s little Toyota truck. Learned out at a little park in the grass fields.

only reason I got my dl at the minimum age was so that I could drive my dad's work vehicles, I'd already been doing it for a few years, just doing it legally from that point

Yep. Was in Mexico a couple years ago and rented a car. The standard was cheaper and my kids didn't believe me when I told them I could drive one.

I did in an old Volvo. It was my mom's car. I think it was a 1985.

My first 3 vehicles were manuals, but I'd bet it would take me a few minutes to get the hang of again it's been so long since I've driven one.

My dads pick up with three on the tree.

No hydraulic clutch. You really had to use leg muscle.

My dad had a Mazda 626 standard and I learned to drive a good bit on that. He used to have a six pack of beer on the back seat and I'd try to start and stop without the bottles clanging each other.

It's all I drive to this day. I learned by observation, never needed much practice, took maybe 5 minutes to get the hang of driving stick.

Learned on my dad’s 1987 Porsche Targa when I was 13. The car had a competition clutch in it. Took me over a year to get the hang of getting it out of first gear.

Drove a 1980 IH Scout II with the Isuzu Straight 6, 4 on the floor, all through high school.

Would white smoke the neighborhood when I fired it up on cold winter mornings.

learned on a mazda protege. still drive a manual. 2001 bmw 325xi touring wagon. bought it for peanuts during the pandemic from some guy who was fleeing for the hills. several of my buddies have borrowed it to teach their kids - nobody has one anymore. got injured this summer and was told no driving. looked at the girl i was with and said "please tell me you can drive a manual". she could! keeper

I did. I wish they had more options as I’d absolutely buy a new car with one.
