OT law enforcement... are you required to call/summon your supervisor?

What do you do?

The only proper authorities I am aware of are my commanding officer, Colonel Nathan R. Jessup, and the Lord, our God.

I’m tarting to have sympathy for Karen. I deal with people every day that are useless and incapable of resolving a problem so you have to push up the chain to get anything done.

It’s going to vary by internal policy, but most departments aren’t going to require supervisors to be summoned on command outside of extreme circumstances. There’s usually a protocol for giving the complainant contact information for how to bitch up the chain.

Not exactly sure what that makes someone think is gonna happen.

Once the supervisor gets out there, unless it’s something drastic, they are gonna take the officers side and Karen is still gonna get arrested or get a ticket. It’s just wasting time

If I was LEO I'd immediately call someone for backup because if one of these Karen's asks for your supervisor you can rest assured the situation is about to escalate. The backup would be for a witness.

Never fails to piss me off some “underclass” demanding a supervisor. So, is this a legal obligation by law enforcement? The delay tactic seems to work and every dipshit throws it out like they’re Clarence Darrow

That's why I can't be a LEO (or a teacher for that matter). My response would be to say "my supervisor is right here", then whip out the tazer and let them ride the lightning.

I've dealt with some real shithead cops in the past, including getting stopped while walking my dog and having the cop demand an ID and end up cuffing me when I declined.

He accused me of some random crime that happened several blocks away. If his supervisor didn't show up when I declined to show my ID (which I didn't even have on me) and have him break down the situation and reprimand the "arresting" officer, I'd have been thrown in the klink.

So yeah, they are annoying, but sometimes cops are absolute shitheads too.
