I can see how people have that point of view, but after spending so much time listening to him and learning about him and "getting to know" him, and then hearing about his experience and the path that lead him to do that, I can't help but feel sad for him and for his family and friends. Listen to his appearance on Pete Holmes "You Made It Weird" podcast, where he describes how it all happened. He basically was prescribed opioids for back pain and went down that whole rabbit hole. Ended up spending $4,000/month on pills and switched to heroin which was cheaper. In a matter of a couple of years he went from 0 to shooting heroin. He also went in and out of rehab a few times but never shook the addiction. It's just sad that someone with such a bright future and so much promise ended up this way.

Robin Williams is funny but his constant energy was always a turn off for me. The dude would go through 10 bottles of water in an hour. Dave Chappelle is my favorite. It’s not just that he is funny, it’s that he takes things that people take too seriously and reveals the vanity and humor in it. That’s true comedy, in my opinion.

I was fortunate enough to see my two all-time favorites in person :
George Carlin
Bob Hope

Steven Wright. Lewis Black (you have to ignore his crazy NYC communist upbringing, but his shite is funny). If God had a sense of humor, Black would be Trump’s press secretary.

haha, well that's not completely true.
My good friend Mark Normand opens up for her and he has told me about writing sessions the two have. I do know what you're talking about though, she has "rewritten" jokes from earlier guys.

Filthy, but his "Eat Out More Often" album was funny. The story of Dolomite.

Louis CK is the best walking the stage these days but Bill Burr and Tom Segura are funny as frick. Those are the best shows I’ve seen recently. Norton, Stanhope and Jefferies are others that never disappoint. Looking forward to Rogan and Jeselnik.

Kyle kinane
Kinane has a level of self deprecation hitherto unknown to science.
Astoundingly good delivery.
Christopher Titus is amazing. Torpedoed his own career on principle alone, I can respect that.

I've always liked Daniel Tosh's stand up, almost as much as I enjoy his show.
Saw him last year at the River Center. My tickets got screwed up so to make up for it they gave me front row seats.
