you must have a boring life.....I have bigger fish to fry than worrying about some thieving old man...frick him, I'd write him off and send the kid $50 and move on to something more meaningful

You go to G'pa house, take his cane, beat him with it, sell it for $50, and send that to the kid. Now kid never has to see his POS G'pa again, and you're not out an additional $50.

No he stole from the kid, it was $50, it's impossible for him to have stole $50 from both the kid and the OP

Naturally you are a woman so the logic is lost somewhere. I would have not given the old frick the car to begin with. If you felt so inclined to do that. You should have just mailed the checks yourself. This guy is obviously a douchebag, but what do you think you're going to do next? Take him to court? It's 50 bucks. This guy isn't even related to you. You have no recourse besides kicking his arse into a retirement home. Your not going to do that though.

No doubt G'Pa stopped at a titty bar on the way back and caught a few lappies.

How dare you take away from his good time?

It's the principle of the situation. She allowed her friend's gramps to take her vehicle, gave him $100 for gas. She gave him money to give to her friend's kids, which is his grandkids. And he only gave the money to one kid and kept the rest for himself.

When someone does that to you, you have to let them know they can't just take advantage of you. I think she should call the old man up and ask him about it. "Look, I gave you $100 for you to give each kid $50 and you only gave one kid the $50 so where is the other $50? I let you use my vehicle and I could have easily said I would only allow you to use it if you would put gas in it. In fact I didn't have to let you use my vehicle at all, but I did let you use it and you were able to get there on my nickel and you still stole money? ......."

she did mention it to him, do you not read the OP idiot?

quote:

When G'pa came back to give me my vehicle I asked him about the party and asked him how the kids like the gifts and did he give Jane for $50 for the disable son. He assured me 3 times that he gave it to Jane. Jane called him and mentioned to him that she spoke to me and that i had mentioned the $50. G'pa lied and said he "forgot" to give it to her. It's been months and he has NOT sent the money and is actively avoiding Jane and blaming me for all of this. Now G'pa is pissed at me for not minding my own business, for spying, for hurting his pride and a million other lameass BS reasons.

I always get a kick out of it when people refer to my home as the Compound or the Hundred Acre Wood.

I've started calling that too

Anyone dumb enough to loan their vehicle to a friend's grandfather for a 200 mile trip deserves anything they get. Giving him an extra $200 on top of that is borderline crazy.

I don't blame the old man for making a few bucks off this dumb broad.

The $100 for fuel was because the truck is a diesel dually and was towing a boat.
