Who is the target demographic of $1,000 phones?

I asked myself the same thing. My phone is $4000. Stupid peasants.

All advertising is targeted towards black people now because white people will still buy shite but blacks need extra motivation.

I get pissed that Verizon won’t let you buy a phone outright and you have to pay $33 extra a month on your bill for 2 years in order to have a phone.

These are largely for people who attach value to luxury goods / status symbols but can't afford an expensive house or vehicle. It's the same market as $500 shoes.

It doesn't even need to be unlocked depending on the carrier. I bought an att note 9 and use straight talk.

Hell, I think you can even buy your phone outright in the store. Most people just don’t want to pay $800+ up front, hence the payment plan.

When carriers switched to no longer having subsidized phones, the plan itself went down a great deal. Bitch about the payment plan all you want, but you weren’t getting free phones before like you think you were. Nothing is free.
