I was born in 1965. My grandfather was born in 1913. I have some memories of his mother, my great-grandmother, and being at her funeral when I was 10. My best guess is she would have been born in the 1880s or early 1890s. She was diabetic and I remember being at her house when she would give herself shots. She sterilized the needle with a lighter.

My Maw Maw Cox ( what we called her) she was born in 1899 and growing up, I remember thinking it was cool she was born before the 1900s

We would visit her every year around Christmas and she’d give each of us kids a quarter for a present and all the adults got a dollar.

One thing I remember is she had the original turn wheel tinsel Christmas tree.

She died in 1997.

I remember visiting a very ancient relative in the nursing home in the mid-1970s. I would have been somewhere around kindergarten age. We called her “Aunt Cora”. I was scared of her because she was so old she looked almost skeletal. Her eyes were sunk back in her head and that freaked me out. This would have been around 1974-75. I can’t remember exactly old she was, but i know momma mentioned more than once that she was over a hundred years old. So, I guess she was around 100 - 102, which means she would have been born sometime in the mid-1870s.

My Great Grandmother on my Grandpa's side was born in 1893. On my Grandma's, my GGP was born in 1900 and GGM was 1897. Both GGMs died when I was pretty young but my GGP died on my 14th birthday so I have quite a few memories of him.

I was born in 1990. One of my earliest memories is from 1994, when I met one of my great grandparents who had been born in 1895. She died a few months after I met her, shortly before she would have turned 100. I can only imagine who people who are older than me might have met.

My great grandmother was born in 1897. I was born in 1972, and she died in 1985. I knew her for 13 years, and she was a walking history book. Remembered the Titanic sinking, both World Wars, women getting the right to vote, prohibition, the depression, getting electricity, invention of the radio and tv, getting running water and an automobile, etc. Remembered all presidents from Teddy Roosevelt to Ronald Reagan. She also had uncles and others who fought in the Civil War, and she told me stories they told her. I know some of the older people in our community and church when I was a youngster in the late 70's were born in the 1880's.

Depends on the definition of met. I have photos taken with my great-great grandmother who was born in 1872. It was a five generations photo for the local paper. She died right before I turned 2. I do not remember her.

Her son-in-law, my great grandfather, was born in 1887 and I actually knew him. He died when I was four. I would read the newspaper out loud to him as he was blind.

My great-grandfather’s second wife. I never met him, but he married her after my great-grandmother died at like ~50 years old. She was 20 or more years younger than him. Born sometime in the 1890s. She got close to 100 (he did too) but I’m not sure exactly how old. She was still around in the early-mid 1990s.
