I third the vote for the ladies at the pediatric place. We see Dr. Kelly (busenlener; dr kelly is easier) but have also seen dr barrient a couple times when we needed an emergency appt. I cannot say enough about them and their outstanding, caring nurses. Honestly some of the most wonderful folks I've had the chance to know. Everyone I've referred to them absolutely loves her (and barrient).

ETA: someone said you wouldn't get in there without BCBS. not so. We had Cigna until January, now we have BCBS. Cigna was actually easier to deal with than BCBS.

Dr Chris Funes.

Guy is GREAT. More importantly, my daughter loves him. My wife is Honduran and speaks only spanish to our daughter. He speaks Spanish only to our daughter when I'm not there. Not sure it's a big deal for anyone other than us but besides being a great doctor, he does anything that we believe is beneficial to our child. He also almost always calls us back. Some doctors will have a nurse call back.

Anyway Dr Chris Funes on Goodwood is great

Bucky Elofson was me and my siblings pediatrician and he is who I would recommend. Big fan of LSU, I still see him at games sometimes with Jack Andonie (Andonie museum). He still remembers all of us years later.

His wife actually passed recently, really sad.

We love Dr. Elofson. A great guy and a great doc. He's been a blessing to our family. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. So sad about his wife.

Hell yeah! He was my pediatrician. I was one of his first patients. And I was a doozie. 2lb 1oz when I was born into this world.

Hands down, best are Dr. Cherron Philippe, Dawn Barrient and Kelly Busenlener. Have been seeing them for years and they are all wonderful! They are on Highland next to La Creole. Pediatric Place

Another vote for them. We use Phillipe primarily, but have seen all.

I'll throw in my recommendation for Dr. Joseph Thomas (now located at pediatrics at goodwood). He was also my pediatrician when I was a kid. He caught my daughter's hip dysplasia very early, and more importantly, my son's craniosynostosis when he was only a month old (a rare form that presents itself as plagiocephaly and rarely caught in time for the safer endoscopic surgery, which is only an option if they are under 3 months old). He is an old-school doctor (bedside manner is lacking), but he's smart.

Highly reccommend Dr. Sandy Reed. Have friends who's kids see her as well and they have nothing but great things to say about her. She works in the same office with Fletches

All the pediatricians listed here that I recognize from those days are great ones. I would always have friends ask me what pediatricians to go to. I never made suggestions....just tried to make them rethink things if they told me they were going to one that none of us nurses cared for(which is a very short list...pediatricians in general are just really nice, warm people that truly care about their patients...they have to since peds is the lower end of the totem pole of doctors)

A better list may be ones NOT to see. Who's the best? Can be unfair. Picking one implies the others aren't as good.
