These started popping up in my town.
"License plate readers" they said.
Since when did cops give a shite about stolen cars?

Anyone know the range on Silly String?

I was about to post that. I think that's most of the reason they put those cistern things up.

The roundabout at Chemin Metarie by Sentry Defense has a bunch too.

That's the one by Baker Hughes? If so I couldn't remember which of their other 15 roundabouts had the big barrel too.

They keeping an eye on who is coming from New Iberia and South Lafayette it seems.

This is fine when we are talking about Amber alerts.

What about when you make a Facebook post that’s critical of migrants in England?

Maybe the 1st amendment will protect us from that specific way of becoming a “criminal”, but use your imagination.

The camera lobby is doing quite well. I think in EBR we have cameras watching cameras. They are all over.

If it’s at an intersection and it doesn’t have solar panels it’s being used to control stop lights. If it has a solar panel and is facing one direction it’s a license plate reader. If it has a solar panel, mounted high, and the camera is in a dome mount it’s a traffic cam.

Our subdivision recently had 8 cameras installed and are part of the Project NOLA network via Univ of New Orleans. The feed goes directly to the EBR Sheriff substation. The cameras have LPR, and extremely high end, motion detection, full color day or night, and actually locks in and follows anyone as they walk down the sidewalk.

I promise you it's doing a lot more than that.

Every plate is scanned and dumped into a database with timestamps and locations.

Yep. I've been watching some YT channels like Arkansas Police Activity. They pull some people over on the premise of following too close or some obvious bullshite. The real reason is usually revealed as license plate tracking across multiple states.

For example, someone round traveling from Tennessee to Houston and back in one or two days is a pattern detected by the plate readers.

Or the next lockdown. You won't be able to leave your house without being detected.
