re: Who is buying Taylor Swift tickets for $2000+ each?

I can remember being outraged at paying the whopping price of $19 for a floor ticket to see Clapton at UNO in 1990.
Things only went up from there. In 1999, I bit the bullet and paid a whole $100 for a rafters seat in Fort Lauderdale to see The Bee Gees on NYE night.
That $100 was a lot at the time, but the memories are priceless.

You are.....for your 16 year old daughter.....so she will stop guilting you over every bit of discipline you implement... since you said, " Are you fricking crazy????" When she first approached you when tickets were a more "affordable" 1000.00.

I had no problem whatsoever on the first go around buying tickets during the Ticketmaster fiasco (I'm convinced most people were trying to buy on their smartphone). Got two tickets for just over $300 after fees in Nashville. Well worth the money. I told my wife going into it our limit was $500 each, so I was surprised. Great show.
Taylor releasing the new album was a curveball. A good 20% of the show is now different, which is driving up demand for the final USA leg.
She has brilliant marketers behind her.

If the tickets cost that much, it isn't worth attending.
If Taylor Swift is performing, it isn’t worth attending.

Are the tickets worth that much money. No not at all. My wife and her best friend have already seen her in Dallas. They bought tickets in Nola the minute they came out and can sell them for 10 times what they bought them for. They both have absolutely no desire to sell.

On the flipside, my SIL was able to get nice seats for face value through the ticketing lottery (or whatever it is), and can now get almost 10x what she paid for them, and doesn't want to do that (and she is not even some big Taylor Swift fan or anything, and is not rich)

Same people that constantly bitch about “privilege” and “the rich screwing Americans”

Country Joe and the Fish for $3 in the late ‘60’s.

Glad I grew up in the 70's and got to see all the greatest bands for next to nothing. Hell the first Day of Rock n Roll in 1978 cost $12.50. the lineup included Boston, Heart, Van Halen, Blue Oyster Cult, and Nazareth.

I saw Van Halen on the 84 tour but I went to the Dallas show.
I was also at the 1984 VH concert in Dallas.

While I'm not a fan of her music.. You don't get to be worth 1.3 billion by being a hack
Sure you do when your audience is pre-teeny boppers who don't know crap about music, whining to their parents they have to go see her or they will literally die.
One day she is gonna run out of mommy and daddy's money.
