That Daily Mirror article was lame. He may or may not be an arse, but that article did not give concrete reason as to why he is the most despised man in golf.

He's a cocky prick, his family is estranged from him, his parents were not allowed on the grounds of a tourney in texas. But he can flat play golf for sure, not sure he really cares what any one thinks of him.

So because he’s not a normal “nose in the air” guy that plays golf, he’s got a reputation as being disliked? He honestly sounds like one of the normal guys that just happens to be a bad arse golfer.

His wife comes from a family that likes to control everything, so basically, they've adopted Patrick, more or less brainwashed him, and now they have all of his money while his parents don't even have their son.

There are a lot of rich snobby golfers, but not many are hated like Reed is. He's earned his reputation.
