In that case you should probably leave the area. Even the private schools around here aren't that good.

Some are. If i could get my kids into LSU lab school I'd be set. Except that you pretty much have to be politically connected or extremely wealthy to get in there. The tuition is relatively inexpensive but it's a great school. Same with episcopal except the cost is very high.

Do any of you guys giving everyone the budget facts have kids, and if so, do they go to public schools?

Why do you care where your niece goes to school? Are you her legal guardian?

Is this where you suggest that facts should be swept aside to make room for emotion?

If you don't have offspring of your own in a non-magnet EBR public school, then this "we" stuff is bullshite.
Most people would prefer the existing school system to be better than it is. Most people would sacrifice a little to make that happen.
They just won't sacrifice their own kids to do it.

Nope, facts are facts. Just love seeing the whiteknighting from some who don't even live in the area and/or have kids or write those private school tuition checks to give their kids a better education than that of the public schools.

I could live in the best school district in the country. My kids are still going to Catholic School. But that's because I want my children to be raised in the Catholic environment.

I'm for St. George because I don't like the way power is concentrated in BR. I'm not a fan of downtown and want suburban representation.

Nothing wrong with different viewpoints.

I'd say new roads, but they have a downtown.

I am terrified, as are many others of what happens if SG does not come to life, also everyone keeps talking about taxes being raised, would that not have to be voted on by the people?

And I'm concerned about what happens if we succeed in adding another layer of government to our community when less government is what's needed.

Okay, so let's look at it another way, what about eliminating the city limits of. BR and annex everything to the parish, so we just have one municipality? Talk about eliminating the duplication of government? Better together? Huh?

I think most of these anti-St. George people are feeding at the government trough in BR some way.

The pigs squeal when you threaten to take the trough away.

It's not like I am against the area. We looked at houses there. Just didn't end up there.

But are you against the incorporation of St George?

And if it succeeds, would you move there?

It's like you live in opposite world.

The St. George organizers are the epitome of eating at the government trough. Your leader, Lionel Rainey III just got exposed as being part of a corrupt no-bid contracting system at the Louisiana Department of Economic Development where political consultants like him get paid out of lucrative contracts likely in exchange for doing the bidding of prominent state politicians.

Additional details of Lionel Rainey's $717k no-bid contract

Don't even get me started on Senator Bodi White, but he is known for his corruption. He and Lionel Rainey have a history together.

BTW, it is comical that you marginalize critics by claiming they don't live in St. George when neither Lionel Rainey nor Bodi White live in St. George. Hypocrite, much?

I've read this whole thread and there are some good posters on both sides of the argument.

You are not one of them.
