The cost of rail is what keeps it away. No rail service in the world makes money, they are all subsidized by the government. Amtrak operates on the rail owned by the railroad companies and have no control over it, the railroads only wanted 1 company to deal with, at hence amtrak.

I definitely agree with this, I've got 2 kids in there now and couldn't be happier with them.
re: Who are BR's best AC repair companies?

Try abc heating and electric. I used them to swap out my condenser and evaporator coil. Condenser went out (23 years old) and had to convert to the new freon. The guy did everything he could to save me money.
Definitely recommend them.

You are right, it wasn't the people of st. George who built the infrastructure, it was a contractor that built it.
Taxpayers funded it, and that includes people in st. George

I had this issue with my old air conditioner. The compressor ( outside unit) was old and they ac guy told me that it draws more load as it gets older and therefore will eventually trip the breaker. He replaced the contacts and something else and it lasted a few more months. It eventually broke and I had to replace it.
Not sure how old your ac unit is though.

As I said in a precious post, if you are catholic you get a discount. The catholic schools for a non catholic is around 5k to 6k.

I'm saying most private schools will cost around that much.
Most schools that aren't catholic will cost you around 8k to 10k. Look at the cost for st. Joes or catholic high, the cost to attend those high schools is more than 10k a year.
Look at the tuition for Dunham, episcopal, park view, Baton Rouge international, runnells, Christian life. I've looked at all their tuition before. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to pay around 15k a year or move to another parish.

I didn't say there was. I looked at the link and posted that it's around 5k to 6k per child to attend those schools. That is much larger than a cell phone and cable bill per year as the poster claimed.
I'm saying that if you have more than 1 kid then you'll be paying a lot for private school.

So St. George is around 5k.
STM is around 6k
Sacred heart around 5k.
Which is more than 3k a year. If you have 2 or 3 kids are you swinging 10k to 15k a year for private school?
They are all catholic schools also.

You are getting a discount if you are catholic, look at their rate schedule. Just because you've never had to look at it doesn't mean other people don't. I've looked at pretty much all of the private schools cost and none are at 3k a year.
Please prove that I'm ignorant and show me where tuition only costs 3k a year.

This is an ignorant statement and obviously you have never looked at the cost of private school. Cable and cell combined is about $250 for me, that's approximately 3k a year. Most private school runs around 6k to 9k a year.

That's for 1 kid, if you have 2 or 3 kids it would be hard to swing private school for all; which is why people move to ascension or central.

Because we are paying for the public schools and they are mostly a joke.
Why keep paying for something when it hasn't shown improvement?

I'm a CE also, graduated in 04. Started out in a small company for the first 3 years, went to a bigger smaller company who eventually got bought out by a big corporate. Left the big corporate for another big corporate.
There really is no right or wrong answer, it just depends on the company.
Benefits are usually great at larger corporations but at small companies you can make more base pay.

Some are. If i could get my kids into LSU lab school I'd be set. Except that you pretty much have to be politically connected or extremely wealthy to get in there. The tuition is relatively inexpensive but it's a great school. Same with episcopal except the cost is very high.

I looked at Louisiana statue rs 33:151 and it says 1/3 in number and value and a contiguous area for annexation. Not just a random area or 1 person

Then send your kids to a EBR school. I don't care about their progress, only where they stand now. I don't have time wait to see if the system improves.
My kids education is what I care about and I will put them in the best situation to succeed in life. EBR is not the answer.

Post a link to your facts. The annexation was discussed on several news websites and they all said this.

I went to Scotlandville when it was a pure magnet program and when they let in the neighborhood kids. The difference was night and day. Just because McKinley has a gifted program in it doesn't make it a good school. You still have to deal with all the hoodlums that are in it.
