My dad tells the story about his AIT training when they were on the machine gun range. It was hot as balls and a round cooked off and went through a guy's hand. Medical discharge. Dude had signed up to play in the Army band and it fricked up his ability to work the valves on his trumpet.

I had a concrete pump truck operator slam his hand between the hopper on the pump truck and the chute from the concrete truck. Damn near chopped off his ring, middle, and index fingers.
Had a guy fall off a 3 story roof of an apartment complex we were building. Broke a leg, a wrist, both arms, and smashed his face pretty good. He was life flighted out of the football stadium next door to the site.

Called the police from a payphone at the grammar school in first grade. The emergency was that I needed someone to let me stand on their shoulders and dunk a basketball so that I could win a bet. School was not happy. They removed the payphone the following summer break...

Damn! Must've been extremely hot out there!

Yeah it was well over 100 degrees. Relaxin' Fort Jackson. A few months later they were called out to sandbag a levee during a hurricane. Then were still out there when the worst of it hit. They put on their ponchos and helmets, linked arms, and sat down with their backs to the wind. His military career was a battle against the elements

Yeah. I was westbound on the Bonne Carre (LaPlace to New Orleans) and I look over and see an older Caddy going west on the EASTBOUND side. Yeah, so I called 911
After awhile there's no more traffic on that side. I adjusted my speed to track with the guy. We topped the hump down into Kenner and there were about 15 cop cars waiting for him.

So, a dentist is a real doctor now. Well, at least I got that going for me.
Which is nice. I am sure you have some training on how to deal with seizures if you ever use anesthesia, no?

I witnessed a lady working behind the the deli counter at the Prairieville Winn Dixie pass out. I believe it was a low blood sugar situation.
I had my phone right there so I went ahead and called 911. First off, it rang like 5 times before anyone picked up. I mean in an job where every second counts you'd think they'd pick up on the first ring. Second, the lady kept asking for the address. I told her I had no idea and that it was the Winn Dixie in prairieville on airline. She wouldn't stop asking for the street address. Eventually I got frustrated and just asked if someone was on the way and she said yes so I hung up.

~6 years old, had recently had a police officer visit our class and must've mentioned 911. Anyways, I woke up from a nap, and I couldn't find either of my parents at home. Called 911.
They were so pissed.

Car pulled out in front of a motorcycle and he had to lay it down. Wasn't a bad wreck but the gas tank was punctured and caught the bike on fire. The entire bike burned up before the cops/ambulances got there.
It was surreal seeing a motorcycle burned to a charred husk in just a few minutes. Once the tires started melting and catching on fire it was over.
The rider didn't have any serious injuries and he was more pissed about his bike.

Yes- A suv in front of me flipped when trying to avoid some idiot who slammed on their brakes to look at a barge on the MS River bridge.

BeerMoney, I called them for the same thing when my daughter had just turned a year old. Scary shite.

A lot of times.
Longest was for a motorcycle accident on I-10 just inside the Mississippi line headed east. Dude almost got clipped by a van, locked up his brakes, went over handle bars and rolled down the middle of the interstate. I thought he was dead. But he wasn't, though he was fricked up good.
Told operator we were just past Exit 2. I wasn't sure how far past, but it wasn't very. She insisted I give her a mile marker. I didn't see one and wasn't going walking. It was hot. Finally told her to tell them to get on east bound at 2 and go to the front of the traffic jam.

We had a guy have a heart attack in the office. Fire department is across the street. It took 10 minutes for them to get there. Part of the time was trying to get them space I the parking lot......instead of someone else just fricking walking over. Thank got we had an AED. Saved his life.

Two car accidents - one where the car flipped on I-10 and the other where the woman missed a construction sign (it had fallen down so not her fault) and crashed straight into a concrete barrier. In both instances, the drivers were generally ok. Woman who hit the barrier likely broke her ankle.

Twice...
First time, when my first wife had a pulmonary embolus break off and lodge itself into her aorta (took FR and EMS 2 minutes to get to my house).
Second, I was leaving my dad's family Christmas party in Ormond, and on the main drag, the current wife and I saw a house on fire. Called 911, but didn't stay to wait for FD to get there.
