Ohh damnit. I was so drunk I don't remember half of it but my car was in the ouachita river and I wrote a very eloquent letter of apology to a local officer. Me being so ashamed of what I had done and not being in trouble for two decades was probably what saved me a long sentence. I joined a recovery program at a local church and they where at my sentencing. 13 years worth of charges where Nolle prosequi. I haven't drank since.
Good on you, Tr33!

Like prison or overnighters?
Either. Even one night. Or even just going down to the jail, getting booked and then being released.

For several hours when I was 17. It's a bad feeling when they put you in a cell and close that door.

In 1989 I spent 2weeks in the old OKC jail.
They didn’t feed us enough to poop. Which is a good thing because you could bring cigs in, but sneaking a lighter in was tricky so the guys would take all the toilet paper and braid it up real tight into a long rope which, once lit, would smoulder forever, hot enough to light a cigarette. I didn’t take a shite the entire time.
I was the only white guy in the cell block, 12 of us altogether. The Mexicans and black dudes stayed on their own ends of the block mainly I think because the Mexicans no habla Engles. The only interaction happened when someone needed to light a cigarette because the toilet room was in between the two wings. I stayed in the black section (lol) my roomie was a guy named Chili. Chili was cool. We became fast friends because that first night he had a bad asthma attack so I yelled and kicked the door like mad until a guard finally came through, acting all pissed off but they took Chili out and got him a puffer.
There was some guy in the next block over who had the biggest, deepest voice I’ve ever heard. Like a fricking silverback. He was flinging poo at guards. There was always something going on over there, guards always going there because of a big ruckus. So when I finally got out, I had to see what this dude looked like so bolted over around the corner to get a glimpse and holy shite I will never forget what I saw. Massive, massive guy, naked sitting on the floor and he bellowed something at me (I’m a 19 y.o. white kid at the time) and I remembered the poo flinging episodes so I noped out back with the guard real quick and that was the last thing I remember.
I was in for burglary, long story, but my family wouldn’t bail me out. Eventually my roommate’s mom bailed me out. Chili begged me to get him out too, but of course I couldn’t.

Spent the night in central lockup in New Orleans one time. Unexciting story that put me there, a dumb unpaid traffic ticket that turned into driving with a suspended license. Found a spot against the wall and kept my back on it all night and kept to myself. At one point a guy next to me was complaining about how he had violated probation was looking at two or three years or something like that. I remember saying something like well time flies and you'll be out before you know it
Ever since then when Ive gotten any kind of ticket I just call a traffic attorney.

I member using a toilet paper wick 25 years ago to light hand rolled smokes in our cell. Toilet paper wound really tight and hung right will smolder with a cherry for a long time.
Another trick was to use toothpaste as glue to stick stuff to the walls. Pictures or even boxes that worked as shelves could be glued with toothpaste to the wall. It was surprisingly sturdy when dried.
The food was bad and sparse. You'd get a small dinner at 5pm and then nothing until around 8:30 the next morning. You'd be so damn hungry you'd fight someone over green concrete paste that was suppose to be soup.

Tuscaloosa jail was fine - mostly small time drug offenders, minus the few murderers being transferred. Everyone played blackjack for cigs and no one could count to 21. Pretty lax.
Tuscaloosa County jail made me realize I never want to go to actual prison lol.

Arrested and jailed for public intox over 15 years ago. Was on a small town beach at night, after hours of a public park, and we drove around the closed barrier. Case was dismissed

Here is some advice amigo. Establish dominance early, even if you’re scared. Because you ARE going to be scared. Walk in like you’re the baddest MF on the plannet, even if you’re dying inside. Because you WILL be dying inside. Talk to yourself. You can make it, and you can make it getting being “turnt out”….it is not going to be a piece of cake. promise.

A couple of times in my young 20s. DUI(Drugs/marijuana).
I got held in another county for three days awaiting extradition to a neighboring county for a warrant.

I worked on a show that shot in an active prison and would prefer never to do that again.
The inmates would frick with me with to see if i would snap back. They gave it even worse to a now WWE superstar. He also just kept walking.
I did the math. There were about 12 of them in a line at any given time and one guard. It could have gone bad quick and it didn’t seem like they had much to lose.

Just overnight when I was in HS. Charges were dropped, but pops knew the sheriff and they held us overnight to teach us a lesson. Had our own cell, but within view of the other riff raff.
Was at the Shreveport Mardi Gras parade. Drunk guy pushed a guy in a wheelchair over to get a better spot. Me and two friends beat the hell out of him.
