And back on topic I drive a Jeep too. But not one of those 4 door minivan convertibles. Old TJ here with the 4.0L.
It is not really a truck or a typical SUV. It's a Jeep.

I got to drive my GF's aunt's brand new Passat TDI for a week while they were in Alaska and holy shite do I want one. Gets 2.5x the mileage of my xterra. It's just a nice car. Feels expensive inside, even with few options. Was crazy driving around town running errands for an hour or more before the fuel gauge even moved.

I drive a 10 year old BMW 3 series. My wife drives the 4Runner but that's because my commute is 40 minutes longer and she drives her neice around.

I drive a Crew Cab Tundra. I like to do things myself so at times I haul dirt, wood, furniture, whatever.

I think SUVs are poor style generally, but this week I have brand new Grand Cherokee rental and it's pretty boss. It's a modern mini van, like all SUVs, and the compromises outweigh the advantages, but if you had a few crumb snatchers I could see the draw to it. I'd get a wagon before it though.
