Saturday I had to bring the kids and friends to the park. 7 seats was great.

Yesterday, I had to go move a kitchen table. Second and third rows fold flat. Plenty of room for table.

Love my minivan.

Don't currently, but had a Honda Odyssey for 8 years and it was the most practical and useful vehicle I have ever had. Highly recommend with small kids.

muh sliding doors
muh 3rd row

The number of marriages that have fallen apart because of the sliding door and 3rd row of seats. Your wife wont have sex with you and your kids don't respect you as a man, but you have a sliding door.

If you want to impress others, do not get one. If you want something convenient, functional and conventional and do not car what others think, you will never regret getting one.

in a place full of rednecks who've driven trucks their whole lives, we now have dudes trying to convince everyone that minivans are perfectly fine

You can drive a minivan in the same way you can wear cargo jorts. I'm sure they're practical with all of the storage compartments and whatnot, but you look ridiculous. You can do whatever you want. In fact, chunked up men who drive minivans are a necessary part of life. If everyone were cool, no one would be cool. We need losers in this world so we can have winners.

Counterpoint: Driving a big arse pickup truck with no real use for a big arse pickup truck is more of a douchebag move than a father with young kids owning a minivan.

Only one of these types of men exude confidence, and it ain't the ones with a $60K industrial grade truck that is in showroom shape.

Does a guy driving a minivan really "exude confidence"?

I've been cruising in a purple Prius for the last 6 months while my wife has been using my car. Zero fricks given on my end.

This reminds me of a vehicle I saw yesterday. Which OT'er was driving a yellow smart car with eye lashes? Probably mid 50s looking baw and this was in Lafayette near the Costco.

Running three car seats across in the back seat of a full-size truck is actually not bad at all. We travel in my truck over the wife's mid-size 7 seater. Much easier to get them in and out, more leg room and they are within arms reach if needed, or heaven forbid, they drop something. Only other issue is storage but with a bed cover, you have more room and storage.

I'm sure Mini-van's are cheaper and have more options for those in the back seat, but we never looked, not interested. My mom had them when we were little but that was before TV, DVD, blue-tooth and whatever else kids need now a days to be able to travel. We just roughed it out playing I spy, etc.

We had one for 15 years when the kids were small. Do not listen to the naysayers who preach the raised station wagon (SUV). Those sliding doors and ability to step in make securing little ones so much easier.

I guess it all breaks down to what appeals to you. Do you want to look cool or do you want a functional vehicle that meets all of your family needs?

I don't understand the hate. I guess everyone thinks they have to have a SUV, but there really isn't much difference. The 2018 Toyota Siennas don't like bad.

They are superior in almost every way to a SUV. That said, my wife will not drive one so I have to put up with a Suburban which I hate.
Bruh you want to go have a beer together and we can plan on how to convince our wives to drive minis?

My wife didn't want a mini and of course didn't get one. Had her vehicle in the shop and ended up in the mini for the loaner vehicle...now she says damn it she wished she'd gotten the mini... It was nice have the automatic sliding doors, and much comfier ride.

Wife has a Kia Sedona. On the weekend, when we all go somewhere, I'll drive it. I absolutely love it. If it could tow more and came in 4x4, I'd make it my hunting/fishing vehicle.
