I always give them 4 or 5 dollars. I've been where they are and it's a hopeless situation. I don't care if they spend it on alcohol. If I had to live under a bridge I'd want to get drunk too

Have never and will never give them a cent. I refuse

32% of my income goes to homeless/poor people so I don't feel bad at all.

You're not a bad person. Just kind of strange. Your tax dollars already go to numerous government programs that the bum can take advantage of if he's truly homeless. If you've ever spent time in a children's hospital you'd re prioritize your charitable givings.

I ask them if they have Venmo and that usually ends the convo pretty quickly.
There are a frick ton of homeless beggars in DTSTL.

Sometimes. There are plenty of homeless veterans struggling out there. Obviously it's hard to tell who is real and who is not, but if I have change it doesn't bother me at all to hand it over.
If it's some able bodied youngster they can get fricked though.

The last time I was asled a 20ish year old girl with meth scars on her chest asked if I would support the out of work political activist fund.
I asked her her thoughts on the arab spring and if she considered the possibility of another africa spring occurring.
She stormed off.

It's mostly able bodied young to middle age white people standing on corners. Often literally in front of a business with a Help Wanted sign.

shite you not. I called the police on some lady's for haggling money in the street. She was opening up car doors. She did it to my buddy two weeks ago when it was dark. He almost drew on her.

Part of that goes to the soldiers defending your freedom to be a cheap frick, or any other government services you consume.

I give money every month to the Baton Rouge Food Bank. This allows me say no to beggars with much less guilt. You can donate online. I've got them set up to charge my credit card every month. You don't get frequent flier miles from panhandlers.
