I've had days where I drink these big bourbon stouts and wake up the next day perfectly fine. Then days where I have 3-4 lesser beers and my head is hurting and I feel lethargic.
I never know when I will get one, it's like roulette at this point.

The diarrhea is the best part, to answer your question.

The depression the next day is brutal and only seems to get worse the older I get. Lying there unable to get comfortable, overcome with depression and guilt. One shift in your guts sends you racing to the bathroom with the butt pee and spraying yellow water from your blow hole.

At my age I don't need a hangover to wake up and feel like shite every morning. That's my baseline feeling every morning anyway.

I can't decide what I love more the liquid explosive diarrhea, nausea, or splitting headache.
Start drinking whiskey neat and you'll never be hungover again

Yeah I think these things have a big role in the severity of a hangover or whether you will get one at all:
1. Food consumption
2. Water consumption
3. Length of time drinking alcohol
4. Mixing

As someone else said the crippling anxiety is the best part

I usually get a big arse burger, a million fries, and a large cherry Coke Zero from Five Guys about 6:00 PM. Always the best meal of my life after about 20 hours of not eating and puking from 5:00 to 10:00 that morning.

In all seriousness, I feel this weird calm the day after I drink heavily. I start out feeling like a waste, but as the dizziness and nausea wears off, I feel really peaceful. I've told my wife and she says she can't relate and doesn't know what I'm talking about. It's probably because I'm tired.

No clue but this about perfectly sums it up for me:
quote:
Did you know that in Norway they actually have a distinct word for the anxiety that comes with a hangover? Fylleangst refers to the regret, or fear, over what you may have done the night before whilst intoxicated. And despite the fact no other language lays claim to having a word for this specific state, it’s one that many people can certainly relate to.
It involves feeling a deep sense of uneasiness and concern about one's behaviour the day/night before. The entire next morning is spent in a panic, trying to review things you might have said or done, and what others who were present will think of you. Throw smartphones and social media into the equation and the dread only gets worse. The morning after often begins with a frantic scramble to see if any embarrassing texts were sent or if any photos/videos were posted to social media. It’s not a fun time.

Having a kid has somewhat broken me from drinking enough to get hangovers. Having a splitting headache, upset stomach, and crippling anxiety while having a kid scream his head off while you change his smelly, shitty diaper is not fun at all.

It doesn’t “cure” me. The hangover has been gone for 4-5 hours by the time I eat.
