I don't drink to get drunk. I drink to get numb.

I heard someone say "you don't drink to feel better, you drink to feel nothing"

Quit around Christmas last year. Alcohol ruins so many things.

I enjoy a glass or two of good red wine after dinner - the dry rich taste, interesting bouquet, and the relaxation after a full day of constant video calls, emails, and associated stress is my reward - it's my only vice and I go cold turkey for a few days a couple times a year to make sure it's not an addiction.

I tell myself I need to quit drinking, but I don’t listen to drunks.

Both. I love the taste of alcohol but sometimes alcohol is a good thing to use to relieve the stress and it's a good confidence booster a lot of times too.

You were the first thing I thought of when I thought I drank you off my mind!

I like the taste of several alcoholic beverages.

I don't drink because I'm depressed, I don't drink to hide a problem. Most of the time I have a drink because I'm damn happy.

Sitting in a rocking chair on the porch with my wife with a cold beer, watching the kids and dogs play. That's happy for me.

I've tried to drown problems before, you just make bad decisions and create more problems

I tried really hard to do so for about 2 years after Hurricane Laura. It got me nowhere, and I'm much happier and healthier since I stopped. I still drink occasionally, but I don't rely on alcohol on to manage my stress or emotions

As long as the wife drives me to drink, she can at least drive me to the bar.

I drink for taste. No interest in getting drunk.

Eta: wine is the only thing I drink now. I have a very nice collection of bourbon and other liquor but I don't enjoy the taste so it just sits.

Anyone want some Blantons?

I drink to remember.
So I can remember how it feels being drunk.

Certainly the folks sipping whiskey straight are drinking to forget. That shite is absolutely disgusting. Taste like rubbing alcohol.

On the rare occasions I drink, it will be a margarita, wine, or some type of flavored craft beer because I enjoy the taste.

I’m not burning calories to drink something that taste like shite
