I don't believe in any elaborate government conspiracy to kill him. I believe Oswald shot him, though someone else may have also shot, Oswald was at least one shooter.
I believe Oswald was heavily influenced by his own views on Communism, though I doubt the Soviet Union actually played a direct role in him doing it.

All of the conspiracy theories have been proven to be false by multiple investigations. There was a lone shooter; it was an easy shot; there were plenty of eyewitnesses to confirm this; and it was caught on tape.

The Dealey Plaza audio tour both inside and out is legit. Highly recommend.
Pro Tip: Hang out by the grassy knoll for a while. You'll see couple after couple frick up traffic and/or risk getting hit for that perfect on-the-X pic. Good stuff.

Whom ever was at the grassy knoll. Johnson knew (IMHO), the director of the SS knew, the directors of the agencies knew. Even in the 60's, there was too much tech for this to just happen. Several people were groomed and set up to play the attack role. The men behind the curtains pressed all the buttons and set it up so the idiots took the blame.

I'm interested in the new book about Dorothy Kilgallen because of this angle.
She began writing a book about the assassination and visited Ruby in prison. Her friends claimed that she thought people were following her.
She was unexpectedly found dead in her Manhattan apartment a year later. Cause of death was ruled as a mix of alcohol and drugs, but was never really investigated and the autopsy was done in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan for unknown reasons.
