No need to look, the reason behind the dislike of the two of them has been obvious since they got together. It is what it is, no point in pretending it's something else.

Oh boy, it must be hard to walk through life obsessed and blinded by one thing and one thing only. The fact that they are both and expect special treatment has NOTHING to do with it, nothing I tell ya'!

Harry was the spare, not the heir, and a respected military man. She was a relatively unknown B level actress. They get together and all of a sudden they're the most spoiled and narcissistic couple on the planet? bullshite. Deny it all you like, we both know why they get so much hate directed at them.

Edward I

You saying he was bad? Maybe from a Scottish, Welsh, Irish perspective. From an English one he was one of the greatest kings in history.

Some say that he was only a puppet of the popes. Who knows?

I do. The pope tried to con him with the Donation of Constantine, as he did Charles' father, Pepin, and Charles told the pope to get fricked.

The relationship between the Pope and Charlemagne was mutually beneficial to both. Both had a common enemy in the Lombards, The Bulgars had cut the Eastern Romans off from supporting the Papacy, along with the issue of iconoclasm and the accession of Irene as Empress.

Richard III. I think he got a raw deal from the Tudors and Shakespeare. Most likely didn't kill his nephews, I'm convinced he wasn't hunchbacked, and many historians are rewriting a much more favorable history. He is falsely maligned imho.

Just fwiw since we're apparently in a historical thread There were multiple men named barbarossa over time including a Mediterranean 'pirate'. Pretty interesting guy. Fwiw Barba - beard ; Rosa - red. Aka red beard in italian.

King George VI.

His strong show of unison, support, and empathy with the British people during World War 2, especially while the Nazis were relentlessly bombing London was absolutely striking. His speech over the radio announcing his government's declaration of war against Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany was something that was definitely fit for a King that truly cared for his people.

And what's pretty cool is is that his daughters also contributed to the war effort with Elizabeth being a mechanic of sorts and Margaret doing some knitting for the troops.

He was also someone that had a good relationships with American Presidents and case in point here....

I'm a guy who once thought the British Royal family was completely pointless and something that should've been phased out.

And now honestly after reading and watching a lot about them, I can see the value they have to Great Britain as a non-partisan and apolitical point of national unity and pride. The people may bicker between Tories and and Labour but they are more than united in their support of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. Hell, that's the point of their national anthem being "God save the queen!"
