Maybe for civil litigation (he’s also dead), but if I were ever in a bind in a criminal case in TX I’d go Dick DeGuerin or Dan Cogdell.

As far as best civil litigator in LA, I’d go Phillip Wittman, but he’s usually on the side of the corporations.

He once tried to subpoena the Pope to trial in a priest molestation case.

And fun to boot. We were negotiating a large environmental case with him. I’m talking tens to hundreds of. He had to break off every thirty minutes because he had a couple of thou riding on beans futures and had to check on them.

He also routinely made the jury titter in oyster cases by misprouncing organism as orgasm.

You mean Tom Filo? Yeah. He's done alright.

ETA: Tom caught a benzene leukemia case just a few years out of law school. One of the best plaintiffs I have ever seen.

Carl Icahn, the billionaire corporate raider, was on the Texaco side of the Pennzoil lawsuit that made Jamail his fortune.

Years ago he went on stage at Caroline’s comedy club in New York and told the story about the whole fiasco.

Pretty hilarious

He is making a fortune off PPO/medical provider cases, mostly related to workers’ comp. By fortune I mean 8 figures. Maybe 9 by now.

Any lawyer who will front my casually realted chiro bills and throw in some ESIs for my no property damage tap is def the best lawyer. All these seven figure verdict douchebags prob have objective evidence of an injury or some such nonsense. Anyone can work with that. It takes a real artist to make chicken salad out of subjective complaints and hot/cold packs.

Yeah Lake Charles has a nice batch of lawyers for... being Lake Charles. Todd Townsley and Mike Veron are also good lawyers. Todd seems to be the only lawyer in Louisiana to consistently get medical malpractice cases in his favor

Yup what I found out is a lot of the trial lawyers donate to democrats so they can control stuff outside the public eye. Daniel Becnel, Matt and Hunter Lundy, Darleen Jacobs, Lewis Unglesby, Richard Arsenault, Glenn Armentor etc.

I heard Darleen Jacobs is a sight to see in the courtroom. I also heard she received something crazy like 70 judgements 1 million or more.
