Yes, late 90's. He did ask if he could search my vehicle so I said yes. I had nothing to hide. But damn I wish smart phones were around then.

I've been stopped 3 times by police.
First time was in high school where there was a party in the back of Santa Maria where they were still developing the area. Cops stopped on a bridge the only way in or out. I hadn't been at the party for 5 minutes when they busted it and didn't even have a beer so I drove right up to them. I had a female cop ask 20 questions then proceed to give me a field sobriety tests. I was a dick the whole time because I knew I wasn't drunk. She got pissy when I wouldn't cooperate. She let me go because they had nothing on me. IWNHI with the female cop.
Second time was a speeding ticket. I deserved it.
Last time, cop followed me from Tigerland to nearly Acadian and Claycut drive before he decided to pull me over for DWI. After I refused to do any tests or blow, they searched my truck and found my AR-15 in the back. Checked it a few times to make sure it wasn't loaded then came over to me trying to be hard asking why I had that in my backseat. I said, "Because I can". He didn't like that too much and I spent the next 11 hours in jail.

Not really sure what it is, but in my teens and early 20s it seemed like I was always being pulled over. It doesn't feel like I'm doing anything differently, but I never get pulled over any more.
