Here's a long one, but I've seen this many times: Living in what was once the nicest house in a small town. Maybe a 100 year-old former doctor's residence or a spacious 1950s-1960s brick ranch style that once belonged to a plant manager. What were neatly manicured lawns are now mostly dirt and used as parking for various cars, trucks, four-wheelers, and sundry wrecks. Once stately magnolia or oak trees are only evidenced by large stumps in the front yard. No paint or other maintenance has occurred since. Leaves or pine needles of remaining trees collect in piles on the roof.
