§ 67-6-406. Registration of motor vehicles and boats dependent on payment of tax.
(a) No motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer required to be titled or registered under the laws of this state, and no boat required to be titled or registered under the laws of this state, shall be titled or registered unless the tax or sales price (depending on whether the tax was applied at sale or is a use tax) has been paid or unless the purchaser has been given authority by the commissioner of revenue to defer payment.
So you have 30 days to register and pay the tax.

$2m bond is insane.
He only owes tax on a $300k car. So let's say he owes $40k. It's insane to have a $2m bond. There are killers who don't get bonds that high. That county is fricking with him.
