Whistleblower: Government Worker Blows The Whistle On Contractor

Just watched the show 'Whistleblower' and the first story was about a woman named "Bunny" Greenhouse (who is actually from Louisiana) who worked for the Army Corp of Engineers.
She dealt with contracts involving contractors and the government. As the Iraq war started the federal government gave a $6 billion contract to KBR.
You can see it at this link.

Here is the wiki page for Bunny Greenhouse. It gives a summary of what went on.

OWL, I answered that question when I made that post.
I was saying that after slavery, when all the slaves were freed, they were poor and uneducated. Then blacks didn't have the same opportunities as whites did until the civil rights act in 1964.
There are more blacks building wealth today, but there are still many blacks who are uneducated and live in poverty, it will just take several more generations for numbers to be more balance.
That think that is pretty obvious.

The second one tonight was more interesting that this one. It was a guy who worked for a pharmaceutical who wanted him to sell certain drugs "off label" (not sure how that works. Evidently its legal for doctors to do, but not pharmaceuticals).
The company had a sucker like pain reliever which contained fentanyl. You put it in your mouth and take it like a sucker. Anyway, the guy who blew the whistle decided to do so after he called a doctor and the doctor asked if he was trying to sell it off label and when he told him yes the doctor told him he was disappointed in him.
It might not be interesting to everyone else, but I love stuff like that.

cause this
quote:is not what you said,, you said this

balance.
quote:so at one point you argued that when segregation ended blacks started had the same opportunity
It makes sense. When slaves were freed all of a sudden you had a bunch of poor uneducated people. There were not many opportunities to build wealth. As time went on, segregation ended, etc.. Blacks started to have the same opportunities.
That's a fact as well.
At the same time there are whites who come from generations of poverty as well and just simply being from poor uneducated families they are deprived opportunities
But there is a reason there are more blacks, per capita, on government assistance. I am seriously not trying to support a "political agenda", that is just a fact
then you went into a "at the same time whites" crap that had nothing to do with the first point, at best it was a counterpoint ,,
then you say there is a political agenda that youre not supporting , but you dont say what that agenda is
now you say blacks are building wealth and it will take more generations for things to be balanced,,
so are you saying the free market will provide the blanace or the "political agenda" will ?
youre a fricking retard

The free market.. but its more complex than that. I am letting my brain rest, I will make a better argument later.

The irony of American capitalism is that the best way to make money is get a government contract

The free market is a myth. True capitalism died in the 1920's when they bankrupted the entire country. Ever since then we've had crony capitalism and the revolving industry-government door.

quote:Exactly. We have no true free market. A free market is harder to control compared to one that you can regulate (US GOVT).
