Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, and Arkansas
Maryland possibly
I don't consider Florida because it's filled with old people from Ohio and it has Miami in it.
Texas- meh not really

There's only three. Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee are what I call the Old South. North Carolina, Virginia and Florida are what I call The Fake South.
Kentucky and West Virginia were never the South. Just because your people talk with a country accent doesn't mean you're the South. People have country accents in Ohio as well. Doesn't make them the South.

Only the Gulf Squadron except Texas west of Beaumont.

Why does Florida usually not get counted in these thread?

Florida panhandle is absolutely part of the Deep South. The peninsula is not.

I'd include north Florida too. South Florida is just a Yankee enclave.
Texas? Nope.
Texas? Nope.

I would only consider FL as part of the Deep South if you draw the line west of Panama City

Louisiana, Ms, Alabama, Georgia. The rest of the south is Appalachia
