I was surprised by Ohio. Columbus and Baton Rouge specifically are very similar.

I’ve spent three decades in Louisville KY and I can easily say it is NOTHING like Louisiana.

Doesn't seem to be much difference between North La and Southern Ar.

If you're talking about Monroe east then yeah. But Shreveport is East East Texas. It's not even remotely Arkansas.

I worked in south ark 2 years. IQ levels drop 20 points going into s ark. There wasn’t a dept head there that wasn’t practically retarded. Out of 40 employees I had, only 2 belonged in the lab. So don’t include s ark to n la. East Texas is the answer.

I’ve always said that the Louisiana/Mississippi border should be east/west instead of north/south

While not a state, I would say Boston is the best comparison I can think of.

How so?

Oregon has eight electoral votes.

Google the other state that has eight.

Oregon goes hard in the paint.

Mississippi is the state most similar to Louisiana in terms of demographics, as Louisiana has the second highest percentage of African Americans in the country, after Mississippi.

Wisconsin. They are much bigger, but I’m sure we share a kind of French/German drinking culture.

Maybe 20% of the state is cajun. It's majority redneck.

Perhaps geographically but the majority of the state’s population lives in Cajun Country in South Louisiana.

New Orleans and Baton Rouge metros are almost half of the state's population and neither are cajun. Nor are Shreveport, Alexandria, Monroe, the Northshore etc. The cajun part of the state is probably 20% or somewhere around that.

Surprisingly, Alaska

100% agree.. I lived in Homer Alaska and grew up near Morgan city.. gotta say the people are very down to earth and close knit.. they have a culture that seems like you’re in a different country.. almost like the rules don’t really apply there and people just do their own thing.. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Alaska and Louisiana have the most tv shows and share the same mysterious lore.

East Texas, for sure. Jefferson and Orange Counties in Southeast Texas are basically an extension of Acadiana. And the rural counties north of that area, Sabine, Newton, Jasper, Shelby etc, particularly along Toledo Bend Reservoir are indistinguishable in terrain and culture from the Louisiana parishes to the east
