Someone did — I’ve thought about you for years. Praying you were ok.
I remember him/her saying that they just pretended their dad was on a business trip .. for an extended time.
Blessings and prayer to all of you who were personally affected by 9/11 through the loss of a loved one.
I remember it like it was yesterday.

Had a dad in Amsterdam that got in a brawl with some Arab in a bar. Is that close enough?

Not really. This guy was like 15/16 at the time.

I did training for an office there in 2000 on I think the 89th floor. The absolute size of those buildings and the fact that after I took an elevator up the first 50 floors I had to get off to take another one. How were those fireman going to make it anywhere with equipment.
Still the most overwhelming building I have seen. As far as size.
My training class there and I had to borrow a slide projector carousel to present. I still have it with the slides in it. My kids know about it and know how important that is.

My stepdad was telling me the other night that he somehow got involved in a fantasy football league with a bunch of guys of New York. After 9/11 he never heard from anyone in the league ever again. The thought made my stomach drop out my arse.

That’s sad. Did they just quit after everything happened or were they possibly first responders or worked in the area?
Edit: obviously he probably doesn’t know

I was there in 2000 on the observation deck, You could take a helicopter simulation of the Hudson River, I remember seeing the other building across the span, the lobby with all the world flags and the windows I couldn’t imagine being in the lobby when the bodies were falling, I went in October to see ground zero the police wouldn’t let you get close to the debris field but I saw it smoldering just a burning mass of metal never forget 9/11
