I was remembering the Birthday of the Greatest college football coach ever !
Happy Birthday Coach Paul "BEAR" Bryant !
As for 9-11-2001, I'm still waiting for the two treasonous bastards that orchestrated the entire thing to be charged, and held accountable !

student at LSU. Roommate woke me up saying a plane crashed into WTC. I went to class and the other one hit and students were saying we were under attack. Went back to apartment and watched news.

I was in a jail, on the good side of the bars, having coffee with some popos I hadn’t seen in awhile.
Watched it unfurl on the news.

My one year at Nicholls. Ironically, I had U.S. Government and Macroeconomics that day.

We had a small group of Dads with flexible schedules that used to bring coffee & sit in the stands at the local high school for morning practice. One was an ATC at DFW that showed up a little late. Fresh from the tower, he asked if we heard the news about the WTC. I got home & turned on the TV just as the second airliner hit the north tower.
I was the stadium announcer for varsity & JV back then. So proud of the school administrators, coaches & teams for deciding to play the games; some cancelled. The intent of any terrorist attack is to disrupt society & our daily lives. We made a statement playing that Friday night.
Thoughts & prayers today for those lost.

I was in a Physics class in Nicholson Hall when the first plane hit. I found out about the second plane while walking across the quad on the way to an English class. The instructor and I talked about it before class (I was a few years older than the other students) and he decided to just sit and talk with anyone who decided to stay. I eventually left and was on the phone with my ex, waling into H.D. Wilson Hall when the first tower fell. Got inside and helped our engineer set up a tv antenna and watched the TV with Chancellor Richardson and my bosses.

I remember a few of the medics from 44th MEDCOM that lived in the barracks I was in at Smoke Bomb Hill were headed to DC not long after 9/11. Mostly to help at Walter Reed.

I was walking through receiving at work when someone asked me if I have heard about a plane hitting the world trade center.
Never crossed my mind that it had happened on purpose.

Taking my 2 year old to speech therapy. Heard it on Walton and Johnson. I thought they were kidding around but that notion was quickly dispelled. Got to speech and the tv was on and I saw the south tower collapse there. There were about eight people watching with me and we were simply and completely dumbfounded. Went to a friends house because we had a playdate scheduled for our kids. We watched the news all afternoon in disbelief. Things did change after that.

I actually still had the t-shirt for the cancelled Auburn game until a few years ago. Afraid it got lost in a move.

I was in my loft about 12 blocks uptown from the WTC. The first plane went right over my place.

Walking to Allen Hall from CEBA parking lot. It was a rare, sunny and cool morning in BR.

I was getting ready a walk up to work on 21st street. I thought the plane was maybe a commuter plane since the only noise it made was a rattling sound. My uncle who was an FAA accident investigator said that was due to them being in a non-powered glide so they didn't miss the building. Some seconds later I heard a low boom and thought maybe it crashed in Battery Park and that I'd hear about it on the news in the evening.
My elevator operator banged on the doors a few minutes later and said that a plane just hit the WTC. I went up two flights to the roof and there it was. Sprained my ankle by not paying attention to where I was walking so I went back down and tuned into the local news that had a helicopter covering it.
After the first building collapsed, the air turned white like a fog and stayed that way for days. My ex's friend in Brooklyn had loads of office papers land in her yard.
One of my clients lived in Battery Park City and he and his son clearly saw the people line up to jump rather than burn. Another guy I worked with was doing an audio interview when the first plane hit. He was showered with blood and body parts.
Stanger things happened later.

First plane hit when we were in PE.
A guy had recently crashed a crop duster dropping leaflets in Texas. Assuming it was something similar, I shamefully made the Peter Griffin joke. "Must have been a woman pilot"
45 minutes later we saw a TV. Realized things were screwed up.
Spent the morning watching the news.
When people started leaping to their deaths, our religion teacher was mortified that people were suggesting it was a wasted opportunity if no one did a flip. As she histerically berated us, I tried to offer a comforting word and explain gallows humor.
No one meant disrespect, we were merely children trying to make light of something we couldn't understand.
As you well know, offering reason and logic to a woman went poorly.
Coach pulled me out of class and we just sort of walked around. Steered us to my car, offerred him a cigarette and lit one without even thinking about where we were.
He suggested I head home, I suggested he do the same. A few buddies and I took the rest of the week off.
I just remember feeling angry. The idea that an outsider would dare attack an American on American soil.
