I was raised Baptist and converted to Catholicism in 1994, right before the birth of my first child. It was not something I did lightly. Years of reading and thought and prayer before I took the plunge. Easter will be 30 years. I feel like I never went to church until I became Catholic.
In my view, Catholicism is the truth. Physical and spiritual truth. You are free to disagree and do your own thing.

You mean the ones that a bunch of corrupt nobility chose because they reinforced their rule over the impoverish masses? The Catholic Church is a corrupt cult that preys in the gullible.

It’s almost as if most of the Catholics who truly experience their faith to the fullest are adult converts, and mostly from Protestantism.
By extension, most churches and denominations do an exceptionally terrible job with training their youth in the way of faith, and I think Catholics take the cake.

what doesn’t?
ETA: what specifically?
The assumption of Mary
The immaculate conception of Mary (Mary being sinless)
Mary being childless after Christ and Joseph never fathering children
Praying to Mary
Praying to Saints
Purgatory
Praying for the dead to leave purgatory, and with alms no less.
Lighting candles in front of statues of saints or any graven image for that matter
The Papacy
The Priesthood
Priests absolving sins
Communion actually becoming the literal body and blood of Jesus Christ when you take communion.
This is just scratching the surface, but they’re some pretty big ones that are either nowhere to be found in scripture, contradict scripture, or spoken against.

it is a sad truth that happens all too often, I agree with this.

I find sola scriptura is be very odd.
Please explain…Are you saying there is more to Christianity than what is in the Bible? For the sake of this discussion, the Catholic Bible? If so, what exactly?

When we pray to Mary and the Saints, we are asking them for intercession - we are asking them to ask God for us. We do not believe the saints can do what we ask.
The assumption is interpreted from revelation, the immaculate conception is something we know from an apparition and the fulfillment of different passages from the prophets
Priests do not absolve sins - only Jesus does.
Purgatory is in the Bible Matthew 12:32

I don’t see anything about Purgatory here

Why can't you ask God directly? Why do you need a "go-between"?

And can be translated "brothers". Literal blood brothers.

Matthew 12:31-32 (RSV) Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. [32] And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Catholics argue that this passage makes reference to forgiveness after death: something that is anathema to Protestantism. This particular super-serious sin (blasphemy against the Holy Spirit) is not forgiven, yet it is clear that Jesus is presupposing that there are other sins that are forgiven after death: which is one of the tenets of purgatory: forgiveness for and temporal punishment of sins after death for the person who is already saved and will inevitably make it to heaven in due course.

Nice sale on the best Catholic Bible. It's the best because it's footnoted with extensive theological explanation of the Bible's passages.

I always read that as in the age of Law which is when Jesus was speaking and the age of the Church which was to come. It never dawned on me this is where the Purgatory doctrine was derived from, interesting.

If it's a Catholic Bible, I'm sure it'll never be read. Half the pages could be blank and nobody would notice for 30 years.
You are an ignorant hater.
Mass is said everyday. At every weekday Mass there are TWO Bible readings that are read to the congregation. The Priest then discusses the Bible lessons to the congregation.
Every Sunday, THREE Bible passages are read and explained to the congregation.
Aren't you a Methodist? You should worry about your own problems instead of doubling down on hate. Catholics don't have your problem right now, which is, how to figure out whether the Bible is Pro Gay Sex or No Gay Sex.
