Where should we vacation to (beach)

Looking for recommendations on where me, my wife, brother in law and sister in law should vacation next summer. We will have 3 kids under 3 years old and want something in driving distance from Lafayette. Looking at going to a beach but none of us know which one or where to look for a place to stay. Would like to possibly share a nice house/condo. I want to go somewhere with other things to do in the evenings too (food, music, activities for kids, etc.) Any help is appreciated.

It's an arduous drive from Lafayette, but I've always thought that Clearwater, FL has a beautiful beach.

Fly to Aruba, it will still be cheaper that gettin a condo on the coast and you won't have to worry with jellyfish or seaweed or hurricanes
