It's a nice haul but Sanibel / Captiva was really nice.

Just go to S Padre for spring break.

Hold auditions for baby sitters when you get there. It's a little work but well worth it.

I second miramar beach. Has a family feel to it. Close to destin and lots of shopping for the wife. Almost no high rise condos which I like. I'll be there for 4th of July weekend.

We'll probably make a bit longer drive this upcoming summer and check out the Apalachicola and St. George Island area. We've been eying some rentals on vrbo and they look amazingly secluded. The drive'll suck, but we'll try to stay for a while.

Been looking at that area too. Only problem I had besides the drive is the lack of restaurants. We eat out a lot on vacation.

Part of our group went down there last year and went on a bay scalloping trip. They were so damn good.

Anywhere from Gulfshores to Pensacola. Much further with small children and the travel time becomes an issue, unless you drug them.
