Where is your go to place if an F4 twister is heading your way?

Closed post office - basement was a civil defense shelter and there is three feet of thick concrete above the basement.

Currently building a house. One of the master closets is a safe room with 8 inch steel reinforced concrete. Would be some shite if I got blown away waiting on the house to get finished

If you are at home and your house does not have a basement and you know your house is in the direct path of an EF4 or EF5.....
Is trying to get out of its way in the car any less safe than being vulnerable and immobile in a house with no basement or safe room?
EF4s and EF5s don’t leave much behind except the slab.

I've always wondered why youre always told to get out of cars, cars are made to withstand impacts, have airbags, and are pretty structurally sound. Hard to imagine how laying in a shallow ditch would be safer but who knows.

I work for the phone company. Our central offices are built to withstand just about everything—including F4 tornados. I’d probably walk over there if it got rough while at work.
