Ef5 one of the defining characteristics is the above statement. You best be below ground for those guys. Since 2000 I have seen the damage of an ef4 in Tuscaloosa twice. You rarely see slabs wiped clean, but I would not feel safe in my tornado closet that is FEMA rated (whatever that means). I would still wanna be under ground for an ef4. My above ground steel door/cinder block reinforced wall is gonna have to suffice.
Those are two tornados you do NOT want to FK with.

My house is concrete inside the parameter walls. I suppose the closest to the center of the house which is probably a closet.
My wife and I gather our child and dog and then grab water, chargers, phones, hard drives in a case.
