I would have thought Freer would have been mentioned by now.

Brownsville, Port Arthur come to mind.

Maybe even Cactus with the meat plant or Dumas.

Denver City or Brownfield (by Lubbock). Just nasty and depressing. Both are a minimum 5 hours from anywhere cool.

Dallas is a hellscape. Spent 3 nights there this week. Endless traffic, rows of the exact same house block after block, Jerry Jones. No thanks.

easy if true coty El Paso....that city has fallen on hard times with the cartel I mean Mexico as its neighbor.

False. They’ve been across a river from the cartels for a couple of decades now. Of the 100 largest cities, El Paso is 25th safest when it comes to violent crime rate. If you go with murder only, it’s almost in the top 10 safest. People who watch too much Narcos think El Paso is dangerous. It’s not paradise, and it has some poor areas, but you’re pretty safe there.

McLean, or any town in the panhandle north of I-40.

Unless you really enjoy the smell of cow and pig manure. Then you might like it.

It's nice around Dime Box. Rolling hills and grasslands, cattle, deer and bluebonnets in the spring.
