i spent a week in ft stockton once.
not only the worst place in texas ive ever been, probably the worst place anywhere ive ever been

kin 3 generations back were from Mt Pleasent poor poor area,,I don't think ever recovered post-depression

There were a lot of politics involved with what bases were on the initial closure list. Many small towns were hurt with closures.

yeah,,, But with the Cold War over it was tough to argue that consolidation wasn't an efficient use of tax dollars

Housing had the potential to be a good use of the bases but the small towns did not want the pigment

Some private security organizations did pick up bargains in the two thousands

Used to be a restaurant there that had the best breakfast and the best chicken fried steak.

It is probably a Mexican food joint now.

Dumas has to be the worst for me. I'd much prefer to be in some of the places people are listing down south.
